A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 3: DREAM WARRIORS (1987)

This is the one with Patricia Arquette, the Dokken songs and the nurse with the nice tits. Teenager Arquette is having nightmares and after one particularity nasty dream she appears to have attempted suicide. She's sent to a mental facility where other teenagers are also having dreams about Freddy. She soon discovers that she can pull others into her dreams so they together to fight Freddy. Each teenager has a special dream power. Standard Freddy episode. Nothing special, but still enjoyable and rewatchable.

Watching it again after all these years it does seem kinda tame. It's funny how something that seemed so frightening as a child now appears no more threatening than an episode of "Buffy". I guess I've become jaded in my old age. Also, now that I'm not blinded by fear I actually noticed quite a few mistakes: Freddy has fingers bent when stabbing wall; wires pulling possessed wheelchair; wires holding boy up instead of Freddy; bottom of socks dirty on paralyzed boy; Nancy's white hair has moved to opposite side of her head; blade missing on index finger of Freddy's glove during alley attack on punk girl; no coffee grounds in spoon that Patricia puts in her mouth and much more. One exception to the childhood fear rule though is original THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE. I saw that for the first time when I was 11 and it scarred me damn near to death. I've seen it hundreds of times since and I still find it to be intense.

Back to Freddy 3: good movie, one attractive topless nurse with cool 80's hair, zero gore, a little blood, a surprisingly not very attractive Patricia Arquette who at times looks a little like Macaulay Culkin and thankfully Part 3 is not as cheesy as later episodes. Well worth checking out.

That poster up at the top makes me wish somebody would make a hard R-rated animated Freddy movie. Just look at that badass ball with the spikes! I didn't see that shit in this movie!
