FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE FINAL CHAPTER (1984)

As you remember, Jason got an axe to the dome at the end of Part 3, so now the paramedics pick him up and take him to the morgue.  But what they don't realize is: he's not dead, he's actually just catching up on some lost zzzzzzzzz's he missed in the previous installment due to the bikers disturbing his post-workout nap.  But wouldn't you know it?!  He's woken up again by a horny nurse and a doctor trying to get busy.  Even worse, he's lost some mass (mainly in the traps area) due to not getting proper rest.  Why won't these fuckers let him sleep?!  So now Jason is all pissed off that he's not as flexed as he was before, so he gets mad.  Damned mad.  Grrr!!!  And you know what that means...MDK.  Murder, death, kill.

So after killing the nerds at the hospital that ruined his beauty sleep, Jason makes his way back to his old stomping grounds for a good workout...but oh, goddamn it!  Now there's a new batch of party animals hanging around!  Fuck.  When is he ever gonna get a chance to beef it?!  Oh well, might as well get in some cardio and kill these buttholes.  He does and it's awesome. 

Crispin Glover, Corey Feldman, badass kills, brief nudity, Zaxxon, quick pace, The Last American Virgin getting a knife to the back of the head, impressive violence, Crispin Glover dancing, some weird aerobics show on TV, two BACK TO THE FUTURE actors.

FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE FINAL CHAPTER is awesome and definitely one of the best of the series.

LICENSE TO DRIVE (1988)

"I'm so dead, they're going to have to bury me twice."

Corey Haim isn't scared of no vampires or werewolves anymore!  Nope, his biggest fear now is failing his driver's license test and not being able to take out the supercute Heather Graham this Saturday night. His worst fears become reality though when he fails the test miserably and his parents ground him for lying about it. But then Heather calls asking about their date and yeah, you guessed it...he sneaks the car out to go pick her up. Things go good for about 10 seconds then everything goes from bad to worse, but in a highly entertaining way.

I love LICENSE TO DRIVE.  I've seen it hundreds of times and it's always a fun watch.  Often I'll just have it playing in the background as I'm doing chores around the crib.  Extremely fast pace that flies by, tons of great quotes ("Let's give her a cruise!!!"), Heather Graham at her hottest, Feldman casually slamming the shit out of his bicycle, the two Corey's at their peak, solid camerawork, great direction, seriously impressive cast, a tow truck screeching to a halt, a Leatherface sighting, great soundtrack.

LICENSE TO DRIVE is one of my absolute favorite 1980's movies.  It, no bullshit, ranks right up there with BACK TO THE FUTURE.  Mandatory viewing. If you need me, I'll be down at Archie's Atomic picking up some babes.
